TFuse for the Universe #8 — A Positive Attitude

“A positive attitude makes all the difference.”

A single Mom with 2 kids, working 2 jobs, who just finished school, and whose husband (of one year) was paralyzed in Afghanistan opened my eyes even wider today. She has known her hubby for four years – met during his rehab. She told me no matter what is going on in her life, she knows everyone has struggles. She told me she gets through her tough times by being positive.

Her smile lifted my spirits. Her laugh filled me with joy. And her positive attitude inspired me.

Be positive.

Decisions Decisions Decisions

How often do you take control and make a decision? Do you feel part of the decision making process in the workplace or do you simply just find yourself asking for permission?

TFuse for the Universe #7 — Making People Laugh

Social change is not impossible to inspire or create. Make no mistake about it, social change is challenging.

I use humor (at least my hope of humor) to relax people. I try to make people laugh, because when you laugh…you feel good. I respect the seriousness of life, but I enjoy the happiness of life more.

Here’s to laughing your way through change…

TFuse for the Universe #6 — Words

Words matter. They just do.

You can believe things you read. People tell the truth. And how a message is delivered always matters.

Having conversations about love, politics, religion, or social matters may not always “feel” like healthy communication. But that’s because people tend to allow emotion to ring louder than fact or substance. Your view may be all well and good, but the words you use to express yourself are negative and hurtful (delivery).

Think before you think. Care before you speak. Your words matter.

TFuse for the Universe #5 — chaMEleon

Think about the interests in your life. Hopefully, you have some. Or think about the stuff you do for fun or enjoyment – favorite bar to frequent, hobbies, activities.

Are you doing these things because of you or because of someone else in your life? I know hanging with friends and family means you like them and want to be with them. I get it. But what is it that YOU enjoy or might enjoy? If it weren’t for a friend, family member, or significant other inviting you to do something or go someplace….would you do it on your own? Would you ever go to that bar? Would you ever check out that band? Would you ever read that book? Would you ever go on that trip?

Being who you are and doing what you enjoy is so important for happiness. Even if it means not doing what others want you to do.

Love what you do

Love who you are
